The Global Fight Against COVID-19

By: Heather Morris

The global spread of COVID-19 is affecting us all in ways we couldn’t have imagined just a few short weeks ago. At Pensando, we are trying to balance innovation and product delivery to our customers, and the health of our employees and their families.  The fight against this virus is a global effort in which each one of us has a role to play and we are doing our part.  At the same time, we want to reassure our customers and partners that the company remains fully operational and ready to help in any way we possibly can.

We have been closely monitoring the situation and in addition to cancelling a number of events earlier in the year, we moved to flexible work arrangements in all of our offices worldwide two weeks ago.  Those employees whose work requires them to be on site are following local guidance to maximize interpersonal space and adhere to the necessary hygiene requirements to minimize the spread of the virus.  We have also expanded our leave policies to accommodate personal or family health circumstances created by COVID-19 — including recovering from an illness, caring for sick loved one, mandatory quarantining, or childcare challenges as a result of school closures.

So far we are not aware of anyone having contracted the virus in our extended community.  We will continue to focus on ensuring our employees’ continued health and safety, contributing to society as a whole by acting appropriately to flatten the curve and reduce the load on our healthcare systems, all while ensuring we remain focused on staying on schedule to meet all existing commitments to our customers.

For our Customers, Partners and the extended Pensando Family

I want to thank our customers for continuing to work closely with us during this difficult time, we feel blessed to have your support.  We know you depend on our commitments and products especially in times like this so we’re bringing the same innovation and passion to meeting this challenge that we do in everything else we undertake.

As our Chairman of the Board, John Chambers likes to say, “either by luck or by excellent execution” we raised over $157M in our last funding round which leaves us very well positioned to not just weather this storm, but with enough cash on hand to double down and bring new, differentiated products to market over the next two to three years.

Despite the fact that our offices are closed for face-to-face meetings we are always available to you via email, phone and video conference – I’m convinced that this working experience will change how we collaborate for the better now and into the future.

Looking ahead there is no mistaking the gravity of these times, we know we have many challenges before us.  We also want to thank the heroic first responders, doctors, nurses, researchers, health experts and public servants globally who have given every ounce of their spirit to help the world rise to this challenge. Although we do not yet know with any certainty when the greatest risks will be behind us we do know that the time will come when this too shall pass. We hope and pray that time comes soon.  We look forward to seeing you in person in the near future. Please do not hesitate to contact myself or any Pensando employee if we can be of assistance over the coming weeks.

Prem.
