In today\u2019s video, I interview\u00a0Scott Stevens<\/a>\u00a0as he explains a fundamental concept in security:\u00a0the foundation of trust<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Solutions like encryption, Zero Trust Networking, micro-segmentation, and protecting applications regardless of how they are hosted require a foundational and robust\u00a0Root of Trust (RoT)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Scott explains how Pensando supports a full RoT in the DSC (Distributed Services Card) by incorporating dedicated hardware like a\u00a0PUF (Physically Unclonable Function)<\/strong>\u00a0and secures it with a\u00a0HardGap (PCIe Firewall)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This RoT is fundamental to guarantee that the DSC runs only certified software and that all the encryption keys are adequately protected and cannot be harvested.<\/p>\n

In case a workload is compromised, the HardGap limits lateral exposure since the compromised workload cannot access the security rules stored on the DSC.<\/p>\n
